TRANSPORTERS RESPONSIBILITY

  1. Provide transport service from the pick up point to the delivery location established in this contract. No pick ups or drop offs will be made on open roadways or areas which may put individuals, animals or vehicles at risk.
  2. Include periodic stops and check points to assure alpacas are safe and adequately eating, drinking or nursing.
  3. All pickups and deliveries will be made between 6am and 12 midnight. 7 days a week.
  4. Provide notification prior to all pickups and deliveries. (at 24hrs and then again 2hrs prior to arrival)
  5. Make reasonable attempts to contact clients and inform them of any unforeseen delays or issues regarding their animals.
  6. 5.1 Every attempt will be made to stay on schedule and provide convenient service. However, weather, traffic patterns or unexpected circumstances can cause delays that are often beyond our control. Flexibility is expected in regards to pick up and delivery times. Should there be a delay, ONLY the parties on this contract will be notified.
    5.2 Direct contact information to our driver will be provided.

CUSTOMERS RESPONSIBILITY

  1. A 50% NON-REFUNDABLE down payment is required at the time of contracting.
  2. Contract must be paid in full prior to or at the time of delivery.
  3. Acquire and submit all state health certificates and testing needed to travel from pick up location to final destination. Present CVI and copy of ARI to driver upon arrival. All CVI's must list proof of negative BVD testing for camelids.
  4. Adhere to and inform all parties on this contract that pickup and drop off times will occur between 6am and 12 midnight. 7 days a week.
  5. Flexibility regarding unforseen delays and schedule changes is expected.
  6. Have animals haltered and ready to board upon arrival. Each animal MUST have a viable form of identification. (i.e. Microchip, ID chain, ear tag etc.) Assure that all parties are aware of this requirement to avoid additional fees and delays.
  7. Inform the transporter of any new changes to health condition a minimum of 48 hours prior to scheduled pick up. (Animals presenting unusual behavior or obvious illness at the time of pick up will not be boarded and owners will be responsible for the full transport fee.)
  8. Homestead Alpaca Transport is not an insurer and is not liable for any loss that may occur while using our service. All owners agree that his/her sole remedy in the case of death or injury to any alpaca is to seek reimbursement under the terms of the owner's personal initiated insurance policies.
    8.1 In the case of any unusual incident or health issue, Homestead Alpaca Transport will attempt to notify the owner to determine an appropriate course of action.
    8.2 Unless an animal becomes ill during transport and requires immediate care, the driver WILL NOT administer any medications.
